We believe that persons with disabilities should have equal opportunities to develop their skills, earn a livelihood, and achieve economic independence. Able Plus Empowerment Organisation supports persons with disabilities through life skills development, vocational skills empowerment, entrepreneurship and self-reliance initiatives, livelihood opportunities, economic empowerment, capacity building, and linkages to relevant opportunities and services. Our goal is to enable persons with disabilities to build confidence, strengthen their abilities, become more self-reliant, and actively contribute to their families and communities. Our vision is simple: Disability should never be a barrier to opportunity.
We advocate for the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities at community and institutional levels. Our advocacy efforts focus on promoting the rights of persons with disabilities, advocating for inclusive education, promoting equal access to social services, supporting disability-inclusive development, addressing stigma and discrimination, promoting equal opportunities, and engaging stakeholders on disability inclusion. We work to ensure that persons with disabilities are recognized as equal members of society and are meaningfully included in decisions and programs that affect their lives. We believe that inclusion is not a privilege—it is a right.
Creating an inclusive society begins with awareness and understanding. Able Plus Empowerment Organisation conducts community awareness and sensitization activities aimed at promoting positive attitudes towards persons with disabilities. Our awareness initiatives seek to challenge stigma and discrimination, promote understanding of disability, encourage acceptance and inclusion, promote the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities, encourage community participation, build disability-friendly communities, and promote positive attitudes towards disability. By engaging families, community leaders, institutions, and the wider community, we work to create an environment where persons with disabilities are accepted, respected, and supported.
Families and caregivers play a critical role in supporting persons with disabilities. Able Plus Empowerment Organisation strengthens families and communities by establishing and strengthening disability support groups, training parents and caregivers, promoting appropriate disability care and support, sharing information and practical knowledge, providing psychosocial support and peer networks, connecting families with relevant services, and promoting stronger community support systems. We believe that when families and caregivers are empowered with the right knowledge and support, persons with disabilities are better positioned to live with dignity and achieve their full potential.
